Weather Index-Based Crop Insurance (WIBCI)

We introduced Weather Index-Based Crop Insurance to support marginal and smallholder farmers in facing extreme weather events. It protects crops like Aman rice, Boro rice and maize from climate-related risks such as excessive rainfall, drought or high temperature extremes. It uses satellite and ground stations' historical weather data to define payout conditions.

Area Yield Index-Based Insurance
