What is Dairy Heat Index Insurance?

Dairy Heat Index Insurance is designed to protect dairy farmers from income loss caused by extreme temperatures that affect cattle health and milk production. The payout is triggered when the temperature and humidity cross a predefined threshold, ensuring farmers get quick, transparent support exactly when they need it.

Fast claim settlements did more than save farms: they also reduced the risk of loan defaults, which kept lenders and the wider dairy value chain confident. When farmers are protected, the ecosystem around them-banks, cooperatives, and local businesses-becomes more resilient too.
